Results from FREE SHIPPING and Drawn from Water Video

I know, I know. Christmas happened. Then, my birthday. Then our anniversary--14 years! So, I am just getting around to updating about the FREE SHIPPING offer. I am so excited to announce that we were able to sell almost everything my sister and brother sent down from Alaska! For all of you who bought a cross or an Africa on a stand, thank you for helping us to raise $600 for Drawn from Water! What a privilege to be a part of something that helps others. I'm thankful that Alaska to Africa (my sis and b-i-law) included us! Christmas was busy this year for us. We were still adjusting to having child #4 after bringing Isaiah home in September. We had a lot of Christmas celebrations to attend. So, as things are winding down, I am so excited to be able to send this money to a great organization. If you don't remember, we were able to visit Levi and Jessie both times we traveled to Ethiopia. We saw what they are doing, and we love their mission. They are not only rescuing kids, they are rescuing souls as they try to spread the message of God's love to the tribes.

They just posted this video that the local t.v. station aired this week. Take a minute to watch. You can check out Drawn From Water's blog here.

Thank you, again, everyone who played a part!

FREE SHIPPING!

I received two packages in the mail today, and I just can't wait to tell you about it. This is a really last-minute thing, but I want to at least give you a chance to take advantage of it!
You probably remember how my sister and bro-in-law have been making crosses to sell to benefit organizations in Africa who work with orphans. Well, they have invited us to partner with them by helping them get the word out! They sent a bunch of their inventory down to us in Kansas. So, here's the deal!
Heat-finished crosses: Aren't they beautiful!
If you need any last-minute Christmas gifts. . .(think husbands, wives, pastors, teachers, small group leaders, friends, grandparents, parents, etc.). . . here is an easy way to take care of those loose ends while helping orphans in Ethiopia. All proceeds will go straight to orphans who are being cared for by Drawn from Water. Chris and I were able to visit their orphanage, and we are so impressed by what God is doing through them. We would love to further support them.
If you live in Wichita, I can hand-deliver!

To sweeten the deal for all of my adoption friends all over the U.S., I will give free shipping if you order before Friday (December 17). That is just three days away, so let me know soon!I would just love to have people all over get these Africas and crosses. They really are beautiful, and the pictures don't do them justice. Just trust me!
Crosses range from $10-30, so let me know what you like,
and I'll let you know how much it costs.

These bronze crosses (above) are my favorite!
They are gorgeous. Seriously. (They are $25.)

Well, o.k. These little Africas are probably my ultimate favorite.
They would be perfect for a husband's desk.
Chris has already informed me of this!
(Little Africa = $30)
Remember, all proceeds go directly to the orphans at Drawn from Water, and I will pay the shipping if you order by Friday. Let me know ASAP so I can try to get it to you before Christmas!

Christmas Gifts and GIVAWAY!

I am lucky enough to have a sister and brother-in-law who have a passion to help orphans with their talents. They are making these amazing metal pieces, and they give all earnings to organizations that take care of the "least of these". You can check out their blog to read about their latest endeavor to raise money for Drawn from Water.
Please take a look at these pieces. Oh, I just love these stand-up Africas!

If you want, you can even enter their giveaway for this free piece! It is easy. All you have to do is link to this post from your facebook page or blog, or become a follower, and get the word out that they are taking orders for Christmas. Remember that all proceeds will go to help others this Christmas who have no mom or dad to care for them, much less give them a gift.

There are so many opportunities to shop for items this Christmas that "give twice". I just love it! Here is one more option! Pass it on if you can!

Junk Posse Jewelry

O.K. I am trying to win a contest--$50 gift certificate to Junk Posse. Tracy (owner/designer) creates these really cool necklaces. The best part is that the profits go to help orphans and other great causes. This is the same "company" that sponsored the necklace I posted about several posts ago for Children's Hopechest/Adoptive Dads.

I have already mentioned how I love buying items that "pay it forward", so this is just another great opportunity to do it. So, if you have a need for some really cool jewelry, check this out. Some day, I am going to buy a piece of this. For now, I hope to win! :)

Adoptive Dads

I just found this blog (AdoptionFathers.com) for dads who are interested in adopting. They are promoting a cool Mother's Day gift: a necklace that supports Children's Hopechest in fighting against sexual trafficking in Moldova. You can read more about it here at Adoption Fathers and here at Tom Davis' Blog.

Shirts for Shoes!

For Christmas, Chris and I tried to buy as many gifts that would "kill two birds with one stone". Let me explain. With so many issues in this world to address and with so many options of ways to help, it is often overwhelming to figure out where God wants us to jump in and play a part. I know you understand. So, we tried to buy gifts that would "pay it forward" to another family or organization that helped orphans or another good cause. What fun it was to show a family member/friend our love by getting something that also supported orphans!
Well, I have run into another opportunity that I wanted to share. First, I have already mentioned Tom Davis and his books, Red Letters: Living a Faith that Bleeds and Scared. (Read these if you haven't already!) Well, his organization, Children's Hopechest, has partnered with Kari Gibson (see her blog here) to raise money for orphans by selling very cool t-shirts. Every shirt purchased will provide a brand new pair of shoes and new shirt for an orphan living in Ethiopia. If you are interested in participating in this Valentine's Day project, go HERE to get a t-shirt and provide some needed essentials for orphans in Ethiopia!

Alaska to Africa!

I am copying this from my sister's blog. Read on!
My husband and I are having a fundraiser to help with my sister's adoption fund! My marvelous man is a whiz at welding and a master at metal, and created these crosses to sell for my sister! (amazing alliteration, eh?) We are calling this: Alaska to Africa! If you are interested, there are several of the above smaller crosses that measure 7 3/4" x 5" and are $10.00 (plus shipping). The layered cross below is measured at 18" x 11 1/2" and is $40.00 (plus shipping). He is, at this very moment, crafting a smaller version of the layered cross and is open to custom orders. So, why are we doing this? My husband had the idea and since he is not working much, he does have time to invest in this project. Why not keep the money ourselves, especially if we have a limited income right now? Because, this little boy needs to meet his parents as stress free as possible, and if you haven't noticed, when you help others, it keeps your needs in perspective! We have so much, and though we are in a slow time, we still have more than many. We are also hoping that this will take off and we can begin to use the profits to help other orphans in Africa. If you would like to participate in this fundraising and perhaps finish any Christmas shopping at the same time, please let us know! You can link over to my sis's blog and leave a comment if you are interested.
