House Countdown: Three Days!

We are set to close on our house Thursday morning. We are so excited! We feel like God has blessed us.

First, we have been able to stay with Chris's grandma. She has been so gracious to let a family of five barge in to her house. It has been a treat to share these last five months with her. Many of you have heard about how she has spoiled us. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I have to cook every meal, clean every room or do all my laundry. Even more, we have been so blessed to spend so much time with her. My kids are so lucky to have gotten to know their great grandma so well. Grandma, thank you for your generous heart and your great example of how to do life well. We are thankful for you!(Grandma treated us to Braums on Saturday!)

(Here is our carpet. The kids loved it!)
Second, we are excited to be able to move closer to Goddard. Chris is looking forward to being able to ride his bike to work, and I am looking forward to being able to drop the kids off in a few minutes vs. twenty! Needless to say, we're excited to see our plummeting gas bill! Well, I really should get back to doing "preparation for moving" errands!

Jackson's Field Trip

I got to go on a field trip with Jackson last week. We went to the apple orchard where he learned about apples and even picked two!

More updates on House

We spent a few hours out at the house today. It was really fun to just clean up and plan where everything is going to go. We're so excited to see what life is going to look like in Goddard, Kansas!

Raegan is a coloring/gluing queen! She does it in all her spare time. :)
The kids loved playing in our dirt. They found many treasures.

Two weeks away!

We are scheduled to close on the house in two weeks. We will see if that happens or not. . .Here are some updated pictures of the house. We are getting so excited!

You know, we have seen God really direct this process. If our house had been completed on time, we would have had to lock in our interest rate about a month ago. Instead, we waited until a couple of weeks ago. This was the week when the government bought out Fannie Mae/Mac which lowered interest rates substantially. Therefore, we locked in a rate that was significantly lower than it would have been had we closed on time. Thank you, Jesus, for Your perfect timing in all things.

Donut Party!

To celebrate Sydney and Jackson asking Jesus into their hearts,
we have established a tradition called the "Donut Party"!
We meet for donuts and talk about how our hearts are like donuts--they have a big hole. Only Jesus can fill that hole, just like a donut hole can fill the hole. . . It is a fun way to celebrate how Jesus has come to save us.

Our New Hobby

Chris is coaching tennis this fall, so we thought we should all get into the spirit! As you can see, Sydney and Jackson have taken to hitting the balls. Raegan is more interested in the snacks. :)

Show for Grandma!

The kids decided to provide our entertainment one night.
Here, they are doing different routines!
It was very fun.

Big Words!

Yesterday, we were driving. Yes, that is what we do these days! Jackson and Raegan were eating a cracker, and Jackson said, "Boy, I'm glad this isn't cumbersome!"

What? Did my son just say, "Cumbersome"?

"Mommy, do you know what cumbersome means?"

"No, what does it mean?"

"It means really heavy. So, I'm glad this cracker isn't cumbersome!"

He was very proud of himself for using this word correctly! Boy, kindergarten must be advanced these days! Actually, he learned it on PBS kids. :)
