Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, we opened our last Resurrection Eggs to remind us that Jesus is alive! After checking out Easter baskets, we headed to church. Our church has Easter at a downtown hotel so that we all can fit in one service. Then, we headed to Craig's (Chris's brother) for lunch.
Here is just one of the four desserts I made this weekend. Yummy, yet very tempting!
After lunch, we headed back to our house to get ready for the rest of Chris's family. The Birket side came over for sandwiches, snacks and dessert. More food = Yummy! The kids had a great time playing hide and seek with their uncles/cousins. Thanks, guys, for entertaining the kids indoors while it rained all day.

Sun Run 2009

Chris and I ran the 10 K this year. We both did really well. Chris ran his personal best as he ran it in 41:40 or so. He came in fourth place in his age and 39th overall!

I ran it in 48:48. I was excited because I wanted to do it in under 50 minutes.

Then, Sydney and Jackson wanted to run the two-mile. Sydney finished in 20:30. Jackson sprinted to a 20:45 finish! They did so well. They only stopped for a quick water break.

Then, Mom and Raegan did the two-mile walk.
We found Jeanne after it was all over. She had sneaked into the two-mile run!

Happy Birthday, Les!

We had an impromptu birthday party for Lesli last week. She is one of my dear friends whom I have known for 8 years. She is so special to me, and I was so glad to be able to celebrate with her.


Joshua escaped at one point, and we found him down in the mud!

Spring Time Activities

We have been busy cooking (a lot for our bake sale/garage sale fundraiser), reading, and dressing up!
(This is what Sydney does 90% of her time!)

Snow in March and April

Snow in Spring! Well, it is Kansas. The kids loved being able to play in it; although, the fun didn't last long. By that evening, the snow was mostly gone, and the snowman was just a puddle.

Settler Addicts
